PF withdrawal simplified – Attestation of employer not necessary

December 8, 2015

The ministry of labour and employment has launched simplified brief forms for PF withdrawal. The notification, dated 4th December, stated that the Employer’s attestation no longer a necessity for Filing PF Claims.

These forms are applicable to those employees who have completed their Form-11 (New) details which are available in the UAN member login.

The newly launched forms require some basic information to be provided. This facility is made available to all the subscribers who have their UAN i.e, universal account number ( or portable PF) activated and also have details about the bank account and Aadhaar number linked to the KYC of their UAN and is attested by the digital signature of the employer.

The employees who have satisfied the above conditions will be able to submit their claims in Form-19, Form-10C and Form 31 directly to the Commissioner without having to get an attestation from their employers for a much faster settlement of claims.

The EPFO’s Central Provident Fund Commissioner mentioned that this facility of filing withdrawing claims is a step towards launching the facility for settling of such applications online as well.

These new forms will largely benefit the employees who have already updated their Aadhar number and Bank account number attested through the digital signature of the employer.

Please collect the UAN from your Previous Employer and activate it at UAN Portal. If your Previous employer has submitted all KYC with DSC then you can claim through new Forms (Form 19(UAN and Form 10C(UAN)) without employer attestation. This form has to be submitted to the respective PF Commissioner office by you with relevant documents.

Very good move, but how do the employer will know who has withdrawn, if the still in service employees withdraws PF. Once the claim is settled the employees UAN will get closed or continues to be alive. If any employee resigns one company and withdraws his PF, and joins another company the UAN continues to be the same or new number.

  7. Relyon

Employee will not be able to withdraw until unless Employer updates DOL of the employee.

Even on close of the PF account, the UAN will be active and the same has to be given to the new employer.

Please note that employees are not supposed to withdraw PF amount if they are joining another company, immediately. It is mandate to transfer such account to new employer.

I previously worked in one company and at that time there was no UAN. I dint claim that pf amount still. Can i claim that online without that x employer’s attestation? i have my UAN in my new company. Pls advice how to move on

    • relyonsoft

No, you will not not be able to withdraw through online process as you are not available with UAN at older employer. To claim you have to follow the old procedure of attestation through Employer or you can transfer the PF amount to your existing account. For more information on transfer, contact your Regional Office.

This shall not help you as UAN is not available from your previous employer. Claim without employer attestation process is applicable only when UAN is available.

i have worked in 2 different companies 1 head office is in Aurangabad and left the company and joined another whose head office is in Bangalore left that too.
both the places pf amount is not yet withdrawn. could u place what requires to be done to withdraw from these
pf accounts. none of them are transferred they are as in their respective places.

    • relyonsoft

If you are in continuing service, transfer the PF amount from both the account to your current company PF account (recommended process). This is done by applying through FORM 13 to your previous employer(s). In case you want to withdraw the amount, contact the respective employers and get FORM 19 & FORM 10C (in case you have worked for less than 10 years) and submit the same to the respective PF Regional office.

  16. Shekhar Shah

This is a very great initiative taken by the Govt. in terms of online withdrawal. I have completed more than 5 years with my previous organization & now joined another company. My question is can I withdraw my PF & will I be taxed on my withdrawal. Please confirm

    • relyonsoft

It is not recommended to withdraw the PF amount when in service. But you can withdraw the amount if required. As you have completed 5 years of service, you shall not be taxed on your PF withdrawal

  19. User123

I am a registered UAN user and able to login to the UAN website. I worked for 9yrs with my previous employer. When I am trying to transfer/claim my previous EPF account online, I am getting error like “Details of previous account are different than present account. Hence claim request cannot be processed.”. My previous employer had not updated Date Of Leaving in EPF system. Its been almost an year I left my previous job. Still is not updated by the employer. If the employer is not updating it, is there any alternate way to transfer or claim from my previous EPF account?
