As indicated in our earlier communication, the new version of FVU (File Validation Utility), FVU v4.9 and FVU v2.145, is released by NSDL. This is applicable from 19th December 2015 for filing Quarterly TDS/TCS statements.
The key features of the new version of FVU(File Validation Utility) are as follows:
- It is now mandatory to quote ‘Certificate Number’ for Form 26Q deductions where the remark is selected as ‘NO DEDUCTION U/S 197A’ (Flag B). This will be applicable for statements pertaining to FY 2015-16, Quarter 3 onwards.
- A 10 digit alpha-numeric value will be allowed under this field wherein first digit should be either ‘G’ (in case of Form15G) or ‘H’ (in case of Form15H) followed by 9 digit numeric value (For example, ‘G000000001’ or ‘H000000001’)
- The deduction remark ‘NO DEDUCTION U/S 197A’ (Flag B) is now made applicable for the section 194DA which comes under Form 26Q. This will be applicable from FY2015-16, Quarter 3 onwards.
- In correction statements, the addition of new Challan (i.e. C9 correction) has been made available ONLY for Central and State Government Deductors. This will be applicable ONLY for statements pertaining up to FY 2012-13.
Saral TDS has been updated accordingly with the above mentioned latest changes in the new version of FVU. Please update your Saral TDS to v15.08 to avail the latest changes in the File Validation Utility.
